Zidane

World cup final, Extra time, we all know what happened. Zidane has now been punished for his actions. £3260 fine and I am not joking. I imagine this is the amount of interest he earns a day in his bank account. The winner of the golden boot has got away with it. A headbutt in front of millions.

When you look at the amount these prima donnas earn in a week, I don't think Zidane will bat an eye-lid. All generations would have been glued to the game and would have witnessed the incident. With Sepp Blatter wanting to suspended Rooney for five games. The punishment looks weak. The fact a retired player has been given a suspension is laughable.

This punishment has annoyed and frustrated me, I grew up loving football and playing football. If this is the image professionals wish to set and governing bodies accept, the world of football is going to fall into a depressing period. With headbutting, diving and weak governing bodies it will be the ruin of the beautiful game.

LATITUDE FESTIVAL

Spent Friday the 14th of July in a Suffolk park. This was the first year for the latitude festival, with my girlfriend being from the town in which it was located (Beccles) we felt we must go and support the local event. The event was for three days, unfortunately we could only manage to get to the Friday. Many established artist were spread over the weekend. With only around 15,000 people at the festival it felt a intermit affair.

As for the music. The zutons were my highlight. The fun pop songs go down a storm with the crowed. Abbey Was also looking very good on stage.

The day started with sitting around listing to a covers in the style of a computerized DJ/re-mixes a odd way very entertaining. Then the hypnotic. Which brought a couple of laughs. We the saw a band recommend by my girlfriends brother, the Noisettes, now normally the styles is not my cup of tea( the rakes.editors, babbyshambles) however with a lady lead singer the band had a edge with a sound that could carry them quite far.

Hopefully the latitude festival will be here next year and I will be able to go for the weekend. I had a fantastic day Friday and cold imagine it to be a brilliant weekend.

Edinburgh For the weekend

On the 7th of July me and my girlfriend flew to Edinburgh for a weekend break. There was no real plan for the weekend and when we arrived in the town centre on Saturday we were worried we might not fill up the weekend. We found that the two days were not long enough.

After the tour bus we spent an hour plus looking round the dynamic earth. A very modern museum exhibiting the earth from the big bang to the future. We then had a afternoon drink in a public house called the last drop. This is the site of the last execution in Edinburgh. Later that even we decide to go on a lliterary tour, the extra incentive this been a literary pub crawl tour. This ended up been my highlight of the weekend and is a must do...(unfortunately the drinks are not free).

Sunday we visited the dungeons (more of a kids attraction, a little disappointed),however in the afternoon we visited Mary kings Close. As soon as we touched down in Edinburgh everyone recommended this tour. It did not disappoint. Very spooky...,Mary kings close is a area off the royal mile were the residents were cemented in (alive) to stop the plague from spreading.

Edinburgh lets you behave as a tourist. Gives you everything you would expect and if you get a day pass for £20 (can be found from the link above),it will let you in most of the places free of charge and will give you discount off places to eat. I had a fantastic weekend.
